Love BMWs, just not that one. Looks like a kit car from the 80's. Probably just me though.

It is obvious you grew up in the 80s, Wayne! I would have thought that was awesome, when I was a kid. But now? I remember seeing the M1 in a museum when I was a kid and loved it. I think the body work on the particular one you show is a bit more than what the "stock" M1 had, isn't it? I remember a cleaner (early Pantera type) look.

No doubt it's an attention getter, but I really like it.

I just did a family vote - the wife and kids all think it's cool! I didn't influence them at all... honest!

The car itself looks good, but it's hard to tell from the pictures you used because of the goofy paint job.
A very 80's design, but a good 80's design. |

It looks period correct. They had a bunch of M1s at the Lime Rock Park Vintage Festival a few years ago, and many had designer paint jobs commissioned by BMW when they were new. Some were pretty wild.
I would keep them if they have provenance or factory status, but I think the car would stand well without them. |

Love the car, the paint job not so much.

The problem I have with the car is not specifically with the Procar add-ons (which aren't installed correctly, in my opinion) but they have added a sunroof, a fairly garish interior and other things.
It's like a DTM-ish body kit on a Honda Civic. No performance to back it up. The other aspect is that it is way overpriced and cars modified in this way have zero collectible value, as no serious collector would touch it. If you want the look, by an old Procar with documentable race history. Otherwise, buy a stock street car and enjoy it. Happy hunting (and keep hunting, please) JR |

Love the car and the paint.
Btw, in the end, if this is for you to buy, don't let other people make the choice for you. ![]()

As long as you like it, it doesn't really matter what anyone else thinks.
In my opinion though....the stripes really cheapen its looks (and the wing ain't helpin' either). Gotta go.

I like it, but it's so completely overstated that it's kinda tough on the eyes.

To me, that car screams David Hasselhoff...lose those awful stripes and wheels then put in some great seats...she could be a keeper...but I have an E34 M5 as well as an NOS M1 ZF t-ax in my garage so I'm pretty biased toward that drivetrain.

I think it looks cool.. and I love it but has it got the goods to deliver?
I wouln't want to be at the traffic light and be taken by a Civic. When you drive that on the street you have to expect EVERYBODY to race you. I am not saying that you should race them, but could you? What was the power? 280HP on a 3,200lbs car? |

Too tarted up. I don't mind the Benetton schemes of the era but this is half way there and it doesn't work. Also the cheap looking sunroof hurts it IMHO (that can't be factory can it?
The outside gives me the feeling that if I looked inside the dash would be dyed bright blue and have tacky accents everywhere.
