You guys might snicker at this, but I bought a Yamaha FZ1 (03). The price of diesel pissed me off, and I decided to buy a bike to ride when I didn't have to haul or tow something. The last bike I had years ago was a two cylinder british bike I rode thousands of miles & loved it. I'm happy with this one. It's comfortable, smooth, not too big, I can take it on longer rides if I want, gas mileage is decent, and they are supposed to be super dependable. It's definitely not like my old bike was. The one thing that is a bit of a negative is the amount of power it has. I'm not going to be riding it too fast, but it can be scary fast. Maybe most bikes are like that now days. Since I usually ride it on curvy backcountry roads without much traffic, it's a bunch of fun.

The Peoples Republic of California is probably different but you wouldn't have any problems Tim. They are not "unreliable" considering what they are (race bikes), they are high strung and require much more P/M than a normal road bike. For instance their sumps are tiny so the oil needs more frequent changes etc.... Treat it like you did your MX bikes and you'll get the same results. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1206969487.jpg |
