For All of You Who Think The Tax Rebate Checks Are a Bad Idea...

Feel free to sign them over and mail them to me. I will have no probs cashing them in and buying something that I don't need yet will stimulate our economy.

I will do this as a courtesy to you and our country. No need to thank me. I'm just trying to be as good an American as I can.

slakjaw 03-24-2008 03:02 PM

I will fight you for them lube

Porsche-O-Phile 03-24-2008 03:21 PM

Not taking our money in the first place would have been a better idea, but I'll take it.

red-beard 03-24-2008 03:55 PM

As you have heard the Bush Administration said each one of us would
now get a nice rebate to help stimulate the economy.

If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.
If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to the Arabs.

If we purchase a computer it will go to India.

If we purchase a car it will go to Japan.

If we purchase fruit & vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras & Guatemala,

If we purchase useless stuff it will go to Taiwan, and none of it will help the American economy.
We need to keep that money here in America, so the only way to keep
that money here at home is to buy beer or spend it on prostitution, since
those are the only businesses still in the U.S.

My name is Eliot Spitzer, and I approved this advertisement.

I would, but I'm not getting one. My share is going to people who didn't pay any taxes to support this country.

Yep, I guess I already paid too much, must think I don't care or deserve that paltry little chump change. OK then give me my SS back then, They sure don't care about taking it from ya..

+1:mad:

How is it that I don't get a rebate check (when I actually paid taxes), but according to Nancy (no tax breaks for the rich) Pelosi, I'm not paying my fair share ? I'm so confused.

Tobra 03-24-2008 07:08 PM

I thought this was a rebate on future tax payments.

MRM 03-24-2008 07:17 PM

I think it is one of the stupidest and worst ideas of this young century and I would think that whether I was getting one or not. I'm not, but I wouldn't have changed my mind. Stupid is as stupid does. We might redo the basement this year and finally buy a larger TV than our 12 year old 32 in Sony or the 5 year old 27 inch Curtis Mathis. But every penny I waste on that hets in the way of my 915 rebuild, leather interior upgrade, Steve Wong chip . . .

If I do any of these I guess it will be with my own mony after having paid 50% taxes on it - high tax state plus self employed taxes, etc. Did someone say Bulgaria had a 14% tax rate? Or was that Romania?

MT930 03-24-2008 07:46 PM

I don't think it is going to have the desired effect of turning the economy. I just got my Stimulus letter total BS.

Might as well buy some Porsche Parts at Pelican, that going to help me. :)

island911 03-24-2008 09:09 PM

It doesn't bother me that the less than well to do are getting a little something. I doubt this payout will hurt anyone. It certainly doesn't hurt me that a whole slew of decision-makers get to redistribute a big chunk of change (big by summation). The only thing bothersome, from my POV, is that they are over taxed to begin with.

Great idea, Wayne!

If you guys want to stimulate the economy, use your check to hire a handyman or contractor to fix something on your house. Most of the money is labor, and the building materials are mostly domestically produced too.

Sonic dB 03-24-2008 09:57 PM

Hey cant wait for my rebate check... the 993 needs new brakes all the way around and those parts are NOT cheap! God Bless America!

I think the solution is to spend it on Porsche parts!
Hey, help me with a free install and I will buy all of the parts from you guys!
otherwise im too garage-inequipped and have to get them done locally and pay for labour and their parts
markup. :(
