Exterminator / pest control thoughts?
My lady friend has a problem with little tiny ants, in the kitchen sink and occasionally on the kitchen floor. I'm going to make a few calls, but I thought I'd check in and see if anybody has any pointers, good/bad experiences, tips on getting a square deal.
Thanks! |
For a small infestation like that, a can or two from Home Depot will take care of it.
If it is clean and dry under the sink, they will not be attracted to that area. The tiny ants are moisture ants. They love dampness (leaky plumbing?) and food (anything miss the garbage can?). A thorough cleaning and making sure there is no source for water may take care of the problem without chemicals. |
We have a company "Antimite" spray once a month. I think it runs around $29.00. Haven't had any ants going after the pet food or anything else since. I've also seen this "Chinese chalk" that you can draw circles around pet food bowls, waterbowls, anything that ants go after. That stuff worked good on a small scale.

We had tiny ants last year. Found where they were coming in and put an ant bait station in their path. Since that day we haven't had an ant inside.

I didn't think that chinese Chalk is available anymore? I have used that stuff on the exterior near the bottom of the house and the bottom of the window sills. Not a single bug in the house for a long while. Usually after the first rain. Now I use a company that sprays once a month near the bottom of the exterior wall. I get a silverfish now and then. Anyone know anything about them?

try out epestsupply.com has great stuff for any elimination, their ant feeder system really works, it got rid of the ants in my place and they keep them out.
