Reverse racism

What is so reverse about it? I dont get it.

MRM 03-28-2008 01:34 PM

Of course there is no such thing as reverse racism, or reverse discrimination. It is just discrimination or racism. People use the term "reverse" to denote situations where the person suffering the discrimination comes from the socially dominant class - the reverse or typical discrimination when the majority class discriminates against the less powerful class.

I don't blame 'em.

Exactly

How's this: I applied to a college and so did the daughter of someone that my mom worked with. Both of us had very similar grades, similar amounts of activity, jobs, sports, etc. I believe she scored a 28 or a 29 on her ACT while I scored a 32. I did not get in to the college. The girl not only got in, but got a partial scholarship. She was black, I am white. Now there could be more to that story somehow, but if there is I am surely missing it.

What about "hate crime" You attack someone because they're another race than you, then you have to show intent. I believe the No. 1 cross-racial crimes are black on white, virtually none of them are prosecuted as "Hate crimes"

Friggin Cracker Crokers.

"Hate Crime" bothers me a lot. If someone kills someone else, and they get less punishment because it isn't a "hate crime." That makes no sense to me.

Couldn't we conclude that all murder is a hate crime?

I can almost 100 percent attest "hate crime" came out of the Rodney King debacle in the early 1990s.

Of course, this comes from the city who is too proud to say it suffered riots, and would instead call the riots "civil unrest."

You can look at many things from a logical standpoint and say that. However, I think the illogical aspect serves to denote the discrimination as going the other way as MRM puts it, "...the reverse or (of) typical discrimination when the majority class discriminates against the less powerful class." How else would you describe the flow if you needed or wanted to?

While you're at it, what situations can you think of where there is disrespect but no counter opinion? I'll use the term reverse if I feel it communicates something.

Makes sense to me. So it's somehow more "reasonable" to kill someone because you're a psychopath than because you're a racist? I'm confused.

Uh...How about professional hit men? There have been times in my life that I have considered (only considered) hiring one.

Apparently they are not as great a threat to society as racist killers. I suppose if you were a hit man, you should be careful to make hits on victims of all ethnicities.

Kill and murder are two different words, with different meanings for me. I expected you to know that Moses. ;)

onewhippedpuppy 03-28-2008 07:33 PM

Silly goose, it doesn't exist. Everybody knows whites are the only race capable of racism.
