Hey Cgarr...here are some crappy pics of the Honda 50's

They are both dirty and need some re-touching/polishing. I restored them about 10-11 years ago as X-mas presents for my daughters when they were little. Both were partially dis-assembled basket cases. Unfortunately I painted the QA 50's frame white instead of the original dark gray color. Both were stripped to the bare frames, blasted, epoxy primed then Imron painted.

THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE

1970 QA50 & 1975 MR50 (I had both a Z50 & a QA50 as a kid, but always wanted an MR50)

I rode a QA-50 and a Trail70 as a kid. Great little scoots!
Thanks for the memories!

Quit posting pics of that MR50! It reminds me of a Christmas morning in 1978 when my brothers and I were lucky enough to walk downstairs to see a Honda MR50 and a Yamaha GT80 sitting in the entryway by our front door.

My brothers and I spent the next ten years riding dirtbikes with Pop; memories I cherish to this day.

Your dirtbike progression looks similar to mine:

'75 Honda MR50
'75 Yamaha GT80
'80 Honda XR80
'80 Honda CR80
'74 Honda ATC 90
'81 Honda ATC 200S
'81 Honda ATC 200X
'82 Suzuki RM125
'76 Honda CR125 Elsinore
'83 Suzuki RM250 (Still own it, and it's mint. Been a few years since I've ridden it, though)

Thanks for the pics.

Jim

whatever you do DONT SELL THEM. geeeezzzz do you really know what their worth. restored a 71 mini trail 50. we all laughed no big deal.............HA try finding parts. try finding original rear fenders, original non leaking gas tanks or petcocks, shifters levers etc on and on. when it was all done frame powder coated original yellow we had almost $2700 bucks into the damn thing!

pilots love these and if they are a pilot and own their own plane or planes they have deep pockets and have scrounged these and driven price up around us. reason: folding handlebars and they can slap them in plane and buzz around destination airport or town when they get there. trail 70's are going thru the roof. if you can find a CT-70H black 4-speed with clutch inexpensive it would be the = of finding a 917 stuffed in a barn and owner only wants a $100 bucks for it.

any little 3 wheeler, quad, bike hold their value unlike larger models. its insane. i paid $1700 for a lil suzuki 80 auto oil injection, and could sell it for that all day long 10 years after buying it.

dont believe me???? check chezzzzeee bay and puke over the prices of MINT mini trail 50's and 70's.

if you think restoring a roach is gonna be easy....................have fun my friend beeeen there done dat!

When I was young I had a Yamaha Mini Enduro (70cc?). My dad bought a Honda Trail 70 to ride with me (I know -- really fast bike for an adult). 3-speed semi-automatic, if I remember correctly. Is semi-automatic the right term? I think it had 3 speeds -- you had to shift but you did not have to use a clutch.

It's cool that the 70s & QA 50s are being "rediscovered" & restored.

I remember the Trail 70 was fantastic for doing wheelies!
