D. B. Cooper still at large.

The FBI has determined that the parachute found was NOT the one used by D.B. Cooper. Your boy is still out there!

I bet he's a skeleton hanging from a tree somewhere. Jumping out of a plane that is hauling butt, at night in pitch darkness, over a forest and you don't even know where you are is not a good idea.
I doubt he survived. It's all Bush's fault.

Geez only $200K? And supposedly he dropped some of that (money later found in a stream-bed)?

Hope he invested well.

Otherwise ...he's probably a 'Greeter' at Wal Mart in Arkansas now.

There is a cool show they air sometimes on the discovery channel where they had a stuntman re-enact the jump... if the 727 is going the proper speed, and drops its stairway...they found that the jump could be done easily even with the old time parachutes...however the jumper needed to be experienced and had to pull the rip cord at a specific count because it was very dark and overcast that night...

they also tested the possibility of falling into water....this is where it would be tough because the weight of the parachute and the money would drown him in cold water in 5 minutes or so.

Kind of fun not knowing, isn't it?

It was more fun BEFORE we found the Titanic. I hope we don't find Cooper, Amelia nor Hoffa. Others to include in this list? The Lost Dutchman Mine, the secrets behind Coral Castle, UFO's....any more?

There happened to be another skyjacking 4 months later...

Richard McCoy Jr.

On April 7, 1972, four months after D. B. Cooper's hijacking, McCoy boarded United Airlines flight 855 during a stopover in Denver, Colorado. The aircraft was a Boeing 727 with aft stairs, the same equipment used in the Cooper incident, which McCoy used to escape after giving the crew similar instructions as Dan Cooper had. McCoy was carrying a novelty grenade and an empty pistol.

He was successful in the jump, but was caught a couple days later....

This is interesting.

Some anagrams for Dan Cooper, D. B. Cooper's actual name:

ACE DROP NO

ACE DROP ON

A CORD OPEN

A ONCE DROP

A CON PEDRO

A COP DRONE

More here: http://www.mbhs.edu/~bconnell/cgi-bin/anagram.cgi?cpw=1&phrase=dancooper

Then, use the name Dave posted above, Richard McCoy:

YMCA CORD RICH

MARCH CORD ICY

More: http://www.mbhs.edu/~bconnell/cgi-bin/anagram.cgi?cpw=1&phrase=RichardMcCoy

Certainly a resourceful conspiracy theorist can make some connections?

Best,

Kurt

I hope he died a long, painful, excruciating death.
