Thank you for bringing that up. There was a post about this here on Pelican not too long ago (it outraged me to the point I wrote my state senator). Most people predictably didn't seem to shive a git, which probably means it'll sail through the legislature unopposed and the first domino will have fallen.

Tyrannical politicians love citizen apathy.

Hmmm.... I wonder who keeps posting these things???

In the second article it shows what an epidemic street racing is in Riverside. It has killed two people in recent years. Lord help us.

I wonder how many people died in car crashes caused by alcohol or simply driver error (as a result of the ridiculously low licensing standards)?

I saw that too and laughed.

Police organized a similar raid in 2006 at the Target store on Tyler Street. They believe street racing has killed at least two people in Riverside in recent years, including Reyna De Leon, 38, in 2006, and 14-year-old Carlos Cisneros in 2007.

That pales in comparison to all the other traffic related deaths. One could argue street racing is safer than commuting to work.

You're a good man. . .

Nice to see someone cares, but I suspect as with most things in Kalifornia, the vapid and apathetic population-at-large will gloss right over this one and the legislature will have their way with the citizenry once again.

I'm keeping my Targa though. If it means I have to give some "test only" station some payola, then that's what I do. If it means I have to leave the state, I leave the state. Enough of this crap. I'm all for clean air, but when they start going after small-time vehicle restorers and giving the trucking fleets at Port of LA/Long Beach a pass. . . Grr.

Who cares it was just a bunch of Mexicans that got tickets and had their cars towed...

Still, I found it funny as hell when I clicked on the link....and discovered How to buy seized vehicles ads at the bottom of the article...

Nope, that is not it. Consider who it is that you see at an R Gruppe, POC or PCA event, think socioeconomic group.

Yeah, I wrote my guy about that stupid Central Valley Smog Corridor nonsense, getting to be where you just can't live here
