non-offending random pics.

With all the people who go on random pics and are continually offended I say we have a picture page so all those people can look at pictures in their safe space.
Anyone who gets offended easily stay here.
I'll start then, then see you on the other page.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1207488643.jpg

Why???? If someone is offended by the other thread, do not open it!

There is no reason for this thread as someone will eventually post something that offends others.

widgeon13 04-06-2008 05:51 AM

Can we start a thread for offensive pictures as well, I want to make certain we are being PC.

upwardr 04-06-2008 05:53 AM

If it were as simple as not going on and not being offended than why are there so many people on this board who don't get it.
I personally get a kick out of some of the pictures posted there. But common sense can't keep those who don't like it out.
Give them an alternative.
Of course this is not required but all the complaining isn't required either, people should chose.

Its a simple click of the mouse try to make common sense of that!!!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1207489990.jpg

gprsh924 04-06-2008 05:55 AM

It is this kind of of enabling that is wrong with the world today.

jorian 04-06-2008 07:12 AM

Who gets to decide what is offensive?

kstar 04-06-2008 07:12 AM

I'm afraid of heights so it would be nice if we could avoid posting pictures from high places, please.

Thanks!

The thing I find most offensive about the chicky pics in the "random pics" thread is the lack of reading comprehension by the people who post them.

It is random pics. Chicky pics are the bedrock of teh Internets. The Internet's raison d'être, if you will. As such those are the absolute least random pictures you can possibly post on teh Internets.

But outside that, doesn't matter to me.

I could see how it might matter to others who view the board during work hours. Pretty much puts the thread off limits for anyone who has common sense and whose computer is viewable by others. It is no longer "work safe."

gprsh924 04-06-2008 07:29 AM

So don't look at it during work...if I am sitting class surrounded by people, I don't click on that thread...its really simple.

the 04-06-2008 07:31 AM

That's brilliant!

I'm sure no one has thought of that yet.

trekkor 04-06-2008 07:50 AM

I could of sworn that Wayne just stated that he wants to keep HIS site rated "PG".

Why must so many of you keep testing him?
If you want to post "PG13 and beyond", why not just post elsewhere?

I assume that you have not been to the beach or local swimming pool lately? Only about 99% of the photos posted in the real random photo's thread are no worse than anyone would see at the beach or local swimming pool, so ??????

Society is testing you, not "why are we testing him" so to speak. If the random pics thread is difficult with someone then perhaps they need to stay in the basement most of the time and for sure not watch television or go outside IMHO.

trekkor 04-06-2008 08:10 AM

Take it up with Wayne, not me.
You've read the rules...

Why do we need a separate "PG, non-offensive" thread when the first one is clearly supposed to be that way in the first place?

I like the RPT, but it has clearly become NOT random. Every third or fourth posting is some very risque chick pics (normally I wouldn't complain, but it's not in the spirit of the thread past a certain point). It's not random. It's become predictable - and made it NSFW. Some of those pics (particularly the ones by one or two posters who feel the need to do it over and over and over and over) are clearly NOT PG. They'd be PG-13 at best. Not to mention this is a site that's linked to Wayne's business. I suspect some of his potential female customers wouldn't feel comfortable knowing that one of his most popular threads was one that seems to objectify women repeatedly.

Heck, my own wife has a very cool, laid-back attitude about most things but even she commented about how the RPT had turned into "the kind of thing you'd expect from a bunch of salivating horny frat boys". Is that the way we want to repay Wayne for paying to keep up this site for us out of his bottom line? Once in a while, fine. But it's WAY too regular, often and predictable to be "random".

In general I agree with "if you don't like something, don't watch/view/listen to it", but I just find the constant deliberate snubbing of noses at Wayne's generosity here and his few simple and clearly-stated rules to be pretty juvenile and frankly, stupid.

There was a thread the other day about why Pelican is so superior to that other P-car site and the general consensus seems to be that one of the advantages is that we don't have an over-abundance of heavy-handed moderation. Well, if that's going to continue to be the case, we need to self-moderate and self-police ourselves a bit better and not act like a bunch of a-holes. Keep that in mind before you post some of the pics guys.

"This is raunchy but it's funny" - is that REALLY worth posting?

"This is crude, but some people might get a hoot out of it" - is it REALLY worth posting?

"This made me laugh, but it might be offensive to some" - is it REALLY worth posting?

C'mon. Most people know when they're being d*ckheads, "toeing the line" or deliberately "pushing the limits". Similarly most people know when they're deliberately posting something to incite a reaction from people with a different point of view (it's called "baiting" or "trolling" and it's the reason Mr. Byron isn't with us this week). How friggin' hard is it to be RANDOM and post stuff that is "PG", safe for work/spouse/kids/grandmothers looking over shoulders?

C'mon guys - just apply some gray matter before clicking that "post" button and we should all be fine. Just ask yourself "is this random" and "is this appropriate for a 'PG' audience". Ain't that hard.

Right on Jeff; extremely well said.

Now I get it. I am afraid of water. Please do not post any photos with water in it, otherwise I will tell Wayne that I am offended by that thread and will start another one against it.

Jeez how PC can we get?

I agree with Jeff, especially the part about this Forum being connected to a place of business. Because I love words, and had never heard of the term, "fefutatation" I Googled it. I have now, #1 with a bullet:)

It's a small world.

I find this picture of a car riding down a giant erect penis especially offensive and perverted.

Aurel

trekkor 04-06-2008 09:23 AM

It's actually 'racing' down a giant...

Oh, nevermind!
