Summer Concert Thread

Just curious as to what everyone's summer concert plans are. I have 4 or 5 that I pan on going to, with the possibility that another 1 or 2 could pop up.

The schedule looks like this

July 1st and July 2nd (hopefully both days, maybe just one)- O.A.R. at Summerfest in Milwaukee

July 19th- Jimmy Buffett at Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI

July 24th- O.A.R. at Charter One Pavilion in Chicago

August 9th- Dave Matthews Band at Alpine Valley

Should be a great summer. O.A.R. is my favorite band and I will hopefully see them 3 times. This will be the 3rd summer in a row that I see them at Charter One (which is a really cool venue, right on Lake Michigan). It is general admission and I had front row the last two years, so I am hoping for the trifecta. Plus, I finally get to see JB and DMB after many years of wanting to go.

Rush in Albuquerque on Apr. 29th, here in Phoenix on May 1 and in Denver (with Gogar) on June 5th. Also seeing Gogar's band here on May 28th and a VH tribute band, the Atomic Punks on May 31. Styx, Boston and Asia are coming around soon too.

Tom Petty in June, Pearl Jam/ Ted Leo and the Pharmacists in July, Radiohead in August.

Tom Petty would be sweet, but I don't think I could find anyone to go with me.

Radiohead aren't touring in Australia this time around...

...so I'm going to Japan in October!

The Tokyo tour seats don't go on sale until 27 April, but I was lucky enough to score a pair of pre-sale tickets.

Can't wait, should be amazing!

will probably make it out to Tanglewood for the BSO a couple of times.

Stupid question, but who is "OAR"?

Trying to catch Radiohead in the Woodlands when they get here May 17th. Would be a nice End of Exams/Beginning of Summer concert.

Not really a stupid question at all...they are still relatively small. They are sort of a college-jam band/ rock-reggae band, somewhat similar music as Dave Matthews. OAR stands for Of A Revolution.

Well...not exactyl, seeing as how they've got Bruce singing. But that's good...I hated thier original singer.
They added one guitar player a couple years ago. So as far as I know, everyone's there plus one.

Yeah, I like Bruce more than Paul DiAnna too. What's with the tiny # of US dates? They're here May 28th. That's gonna be a killer concert week for me, since Gogar will be here two days later and the Atomic Punks (VH tribute band) a few days later. Week after that is Rush in Denver. Somewhere I have some photos of me hanging out with Nicko McBrain and Dave Murray. Gotta find and post them.

Wife and I are flying to NY to see Tom Petty in June, it also happens to be our tenth anniv.

I was hoping to see Ween, but I am gone when they come to Denver...
