The big museum is not yet finished, they anticipate it being done by the end of the year. If you haven't done so, you should schedule a factory tour with Ingrid at Porsche. Stuttgart is a nice town, there are many hotels to choose from. I was recommended LeMeridien by one of Stephan Wilkinson's contacts, its very nice and a short walk to the train station. Also make time to see the Mercedes museum (another quick train ride). The shopping in the center of Stuttgart is really good too, there are a ton of shops on the main strip. We had dinner at the Lausterer - was recommended for the "authentic" German cuisine experience. I can send you more details if you want but I'm stuck in Connecticut. You may also want to check to see if there are any classic car shows going on as I've seen the dates listed in one of the classic car mags.

Depends on how much time you have. Ruf in Pfaffenhausen is less than two hrs. from Stuttgart. A few more hours and a GORGEOUS drive south will get you to Gmuend in Austria, truly one of the greatest car museums with a great story behind it. The Porsche factory museum is a walk-in place. But you need a reservation for the factory tour and a few mos. in advance. Your local dealer should be able to help set it up. If you can get a connection to get you into Weissach, that would be pretty cool too.

You can schedule the factory tour pretty easily through PCNA, or by contacting Ingrid at the factory directly (PM me for her email). Request the English tour. Well worth it!
