Wrong date on email (from ebay)
This morning I put a bid on an auction item, a while later I get the blinky thing on the bottom of the monitor that I'm getting email. I open the inbox, no new messages at the bottom of the list (Outlook Express).
I scroll up and it's at the top, shows it was received 1/23/2008. Jim |
Look in your "My Ebay" section and see if the message is there.
If yes it should have the correct date and time on it. Joe |
I never trust the ebay messages I get in the email without first going to "my ebay" and verifying them. Too much fraud centered on ebay these days.

I complained and they said they sent me several emails. I replied that I never open emails relating to ebay, I get a few a week that are all scams so why would I think the couple they sent me were any different. I know the scams are not their fault but they have to be aware of the severity and shame on them for not coming up with another solution for their customers. How about some snail mail, those I open, but email is free, snail mail is not so I guess protecting revenue is the better choice for them. |
Does the time stamp on an email go by your computer's clock? I assumed it was applied by the mail server. I don't understand how it arrived with a two month old date today and was received as such by my computer. The message sent was in reference to the bid of today.
btw, I haven't seen these type of confirmation notices in my ebay mail folder, unless they're in a section I'm not seeing. They are always sent to my nominal email address. Jim |
