Showing off - new wall clocks
I'm looking to see what 'car guys' think of these new clocks. With any luck, one or both of these will be available in the garage section of a large retailers Christmas catalog.

I don't see how to tell time with them

Oh, these are the original paintings. The reproductions will have at least four numbers, maybe all twelve. The paint was still wet when I took the photos and they still needed to be scanned, so I didn't install the clock mechanism. The round clock will have large hands and numbers. I'm not sure what the rectangular clock will have. I thought it would have larger hands and larger numbers "floating in space" but there was talk about erasing the painted hands on the gas pump and using that only. They also mentioned erasing my 20gal gauge and replacing it with 12gal.

Here's a quick example of what the round one will look like (though with better quality photo editing)...

Very cool, you should offer direct sales to Pelicans ;)

Once the exclusive time period runs out or if it's not chosen for the national retailer, I'll offer it up.
Anyone care to guess what the "non specific make and model" car is in the round clock? The rectangular clock is too easy. |

I'll guess Ferrari...

The large yellow numbers kind of overpower the artwork.
Why not no numbers at all? Anyone past 4th grade can tell the time without the numbers. |

Didn't someone recently have a link to some company (IIRC it was in the UK) that makes reproductions of the LeMans clock with the lights? I'm so gonna' get me one of those. Maybe not right away, but eventually. . .

I'm giving this a bump to the top because I'm now working on a new design or two that are more p-car related. I'm also asking for any and all input to the design. I've spend many hours pouring over photos, magazines and computer images trying to find just the right inspiration. Got any ideas?
I can't do a 911 or a Porsche crest but I may be able to get away with other models or parts of cars... say flat six? Thoughts, comments, ideas pictures welcome. |
