Golf Carts - Need Some Advice
We are in the market for a road legal electric golf cart. Where we live it would make great sense for shopping and errands. Most places are in walking/biking distance but that doesn't help when you have to drag back home the groceries et al.
I have looked on Craigslist and Ebay for new and used ones - looks like the ones I like are around $4000. Thats more than I want to pay. I would drop $1000 and not much more. Any ideas? |
Im not sure how in love with the Golf cart idea you are, but you could get a trailer to tow behind a bike for a fraction of your $1000 budget.

I love the 'green aspect' but we are a fat and lazy sort.

Mike,
Check this, http://server1.buggiesunlimited.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=14581 Looks like the only thing required is a front light and a Slow Moving Vehicle on the back. Some of these guys did the full registration but does not appear to be necc. |

Batteries alone cost in excess of $500. That doesn't leave much golf cart for $1000.
You might try looking at places that lease/loan golf carts to courses on a cyclical basis or for large tournaments. Often times they need to liquidate some inventory. The Nelson is coming up, and a great place to grab one would be right then and there. My old boss bought one off of a leasing company, and it was much less than $4000 for a newer model, totally rigged out, lifted, ect.... |
