I thought Porsche made it VERY clear that it would not waste money on a sport that would lend no direct development for its street cars? So where the hell is this coming from? I just lost a little more respect for Porsche as it jumps on an obvious bandwagon. There go my dreams for a Cayenne track car...... Disclaimer - I am not condoning what Max did, I just think its utter bullcrap that everyone is sooooo righteous that they have to but into this mess. |
67 years old?
5 hour orgy? I condone it. |
I think Porsche would make a good engine supplier.
That at least would have some value for road cars. And what about ALMS prototype? They are pretty close to F1 cars with fenders. |
Should I did out Porsche's official statement regarding its not wanting to participate in F1?
brb.... |
I, too, will not field an F1 team next year because of this scandal.

Damned right! Me neither! And thanks for the laugh...:D |
That's kinda surprising, given Porsche's storied history in endurance racing.
You'd think they'd be all over a 5 hour F1 enduro ;) |
Still looking for the quote but found this:

i just think it's immoral at that age to push the envelope so badly
let's face it, it would devastate and traumatize all hookers involved if he would croak during the orgy... please, think about the hookers |
Porsche needs a factory on this side of the pond that builds 4 door sedans. A wise move for Porsche would be to go NASCAR.

I made a cheap photocopy of the piece, handed it to my local detroit iron mechanic friend...he a big NASCAR fan. His face saddened, then he said: "Nascar just isn't the same since Dale died anyway." |
Moral Panic goes F1.
Ridiculous. Everywhere I look these days, people are all over moral discretions as a weapon against opponents. Looking so darn righteous and indignant themselves. Ridiculous. A man should be valued for what he accomplish in his profession, not whether he engages in a little cratch slapping. Great exercise and good fun. Complete nonsense. |

I also can't for the life of me understand why people feel the need to film themselves doing the nasty. |
Porsche @ nascar
as if ze Germans would care about building carbureted, push-rod,front engined/rwd car i rate that idea about at the same level as entering Paris-Dakar with a Carrera GT |
What I don't get is what the guys sex life has to do with racing?
Great, I understand if my pilot, dentist, surgeon, proctologist is an alcoholic or druggy, then that may be relevant to how they perform their jobs. If the girls high school ______ team coach is a pedaphile, or the scout master is likes little boys, ok, that's cause for alarm. But if my favorite racecar driver likes to be saddled with a cucumber up his but and spanked with a whole chicken while wearing spike heals.... so long as he doesn't try it while he's racing.... |
I hardly look to F1 as my moral compass.

Guys...
The support races for F1 since 1993 have been called Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, and are essentially Cup cars. My guess is that Porsche doesn't want to be a support race series for F1 any more. That's my guess anyway. |

The FIA should be selling Max Mosely signature whips, leg irons, leather, condoms, and specially packaged Viagra. They would make a freakin' fortune.

On an unrelated note, I'd like to announce that I will not be joining the NBA because of the Isiah Thomas scandel.

I think if he winds up broke over the scandal he should cash in with the liberal sex scene. A few thousand and a few adds in the Village Voice would allow him to soon buy a new yacht. He'd be a sophisticated Larry Flint.

LOL You guys have got to read that article. Good one Jimbo |
As cool as it would be to have Porsche in F1, it'd be an absolutely idiotic business decision. The money involved alone is absurd and frankly, I have no idea how even the mighty Ferrari is able to continue to fund their team at the level it does. It's ego and bragging rights that translates into SOME sales, but certainly nowhere near the level needed to make an acceptable return on investment. From a business standpoint, Porsche is being smart. Remember, they damn nearly went under once in the 1980s - in no small part due to their outlays to fund racing.
I'd love to see it too, but this is simply grandstanding. Porsche is (right now anyway) being too "business smart" to see themselves stretched to the breaking point by an F1 presence. |
Let's not forget that Porsche already proved themselves quite capable of building championship - both constructor's and driver's - winning engines back in the 80s. The TAG-Porsche 1.5L turbocharged engines were used by McLaren who went on to win the constructor's championship in 84 and 85 and the driver's title in 84, 85 and 86.
