Do it in the dirt! 1/3 mile oval in this town...great racing, and as grass roots as it gets!

VINMAN,

I think you came to the wrong place if you wanted to be talked out of that ride.:)

Looks like an absolute hoot.

you will die immediately if you set foot in that thing. Totally irresponsible. Won't you think about the children?

as long as I'm the beneficiary. Listing anyone else would be irresponsible, and not thinking about the children.

Won't somebody thing about the children?!?!?

My wife already maxed it out because of the boat racing!:D

Thing thats nice about , it is it's spec class racing. One chassis builder.
All the tracks are local. So no 5 hr drive to go racing.

Redneck racin'! Do you meet the missing teeth requirements?:p

We have 3/8 mile oval just north of Wichita, I've spent many a Saturday night there the last few summers. My 4 year old son gets a kick out of the racing, and his grandpa and 8 year old uncle like to go with us. Last Saturday featured sprint cars, modifieds, and a few other lesser classes. The people in the crowd can be "interesting", but it's good cheap entertainment. I can imagine it's a blast from the driver's perspective, go for it!

You'll put your eye out.

LOL Im probably the only person in that crowd thats not married to a cousin or other close relative. Definately a scary bunch of people. Although the local track is fairly close to some affluent areas. So you do get some "normal" spectators and racers mixed in there.:D

Hey Vinman, (thread drift here), do you know who/of Reggie Fountain (is)? I saw a TV show on his operations a few months back and it brought back memories of my college days. He had finished his racing career, but owned the apt complex I lived in (and another one that was adorned with some of his trophies). He kept a "bachelor's pad" (unoccupied 99% of the time) that was two stories below mine...and occasionaly one of his guys would have a boat parked outside that was being delivered, I was impressed :). I only met him once...I remember it well, one summer afternoon, I had Rush 2112 blasting, when he knocked on my door and asked me to turn it down :(. As I recall, I think Fountain was supposed to have won something like 60% of the races he competed in (or some rediculously high percentage). Oh well, end of thread drift, now go DO IT!

Do it!!!

I've always wanted to try dirt, but never got the chance. I'm not much of a fighter either and I always figured that was a requirement :)

Dueller 04-21-2008 03:38 PM

Dirt's fer racin'.
Asphalt's fer gittin' thar.:D
