Pac Man to Big D!!!

Well boys and girls it finally happened. The Titans knuckled under and caved to Jerry. The deal is PacMan to Dallas for a 4th rounder this year and a 6th rounder next year IF he is reinstated and plays the entire season. If he is either not reinstated or screws up again and is suspended next season the Titans give Dallas back a 4th rounder in 09. PacMan also agreed to donate $500,000 to a charity of the Titans choosing and he will restructure his deal with Dallas.

All in all this one is a no brainer win for the Cowboys. You get a shut down corner that was a former 6th pick overall for a maximum of a 4th rounder this year and a 6th next year. Done, pull the trigger on that one.

If he doesn't work out the the Cowboys just end up giving up a 4th rounder this year for Tennessee's 4th rounder next year.

Add one more vagrant reclamation project to Dallas.

There is no such thing as a shut down corner anymore. There was an article on espn.com the other week about this. It listed some big name corners and where they went via trade or free agency. In every case the pass defense got worse.

With the offenses of today, it's VERY difficult to stop an offense if it is given time.

The only way to stop today's good offenses is with a great front 4 (or 5, 6, 7, etc.)

Also that's gonna be some locker room in Big D. TO crying, Pacman maiking it rain and Tony cavortin' with Jessica.

Can you tell I'm a Giants Fan???

Heh, you had your year last year man. With PacMan opposite T-New, plus our front 7 getting stronger with Zach Thomas in the middle this is the Cowboy's year.

Now if Jerry will just trade Roy Williams away and put a decent safety back there...

I say he gets arrested by Christmas.

Nathans_Dad 04-23-2008 07:14 PM

Well, that's certainly possible and that is the beauty of the deal. If he gets arrested the Cowboys just pick up that 4th rounder again in the 2009 draft...They will only be out whatever cash they pay him in the contract and I guarantee that he will sign for close to the league minimum with some playing time incentives in there...

Well, if he can be "good" until '09, he can play here:

I think Jones will be pressing extra hard for a Super Bowl birth in '08 for business purposes in addition to all of the usual reasons. :D

Go Pokes!

Best,

Kurt

who hoo, another criminal in dallas.
How long before he gets arrested again?

Mule 04-23-2008 08:14 PM

Strippers all over Dallas are waiting for him to "make it rain!"

Get rid of Jerry Jones and the world and the Big D will both be a better place...

Maybe not the best choice of words on that last sentence!

As a guy who grew up with the Landry Cowboys, I've never been a big fan of Jones, especially after the way he fired Landry.

I still don't like the guy, but he has created an organization that has won some Super Bowls and is incredibly valuable, which is hard to argue against, IMO.

Best,

Kurt

I'm not a Jerry fan but the guy is arguably the shrewdest owner the NFL has even seen. Jerry Jones has revolutionized the way NFL teams are run. I will admit that I am waiting for him to turn over the reigns to his son Steven, mainly because I would like an owner who would stop trying to be the coach....

Jeff Fisher snookered the Boys. Pac man will get re-instated. Titans will get their draft picks. Pac Man will get in more trouble & banned for life. Yep, Jerry made 'em knuckle under!

From ESPN:
"The Titans might have been more eager to trade Jones after news surfaced Monday night that the cornerback had paid money to a 29-year-old man arrested for a Las Vegas strip club shooting in February 2007 that left a club employee paralyzed."

sammyg2 04-24-2008 05:33 AM

Dallas is starting to look more and more like the new raiders, a home for criminals, misfits, drug addicts and sex offenders.

I didn't like the raiders teams when they were doing it, I'll root against the cowbys when they do it.

Happy days are here for Dallas strippers!

Mule 04-24-2008 05:40 AM

And they already have a #23 on a jail cell! I agree, Jones thinks he can turn the Cowboys into the Dirty Dozen & whip ass. Probably not!

Seriously? The Tennessee Titans get at least a fourth-round pick for Pacman Jones? Give the Titans some type of medal for that one.

Really? The Titans get a fourth-rounder for a player who is a complete embarrassment to the NFL and who makes the state of Tennessee a better place by the mere fact that he'll no longer be there. Remember, there is no guarantee Jones will be reinstated any time soon. And still, the Titans get a fourth-rounder from Dallas. It gets even better. Tennessee has a chance to get even more in the deal depending on Jones' production.

Incredible. A fourth rounder-plus for a guy who been on banned list for more than a year.
Remember, all Oakland got for Randy Moss from New England last year was a fourth-rounder. So Jones is just as valuable to the Cowboys as Moss was to the Patriots? Wow.

You know they are bursting with glee in Nashville tonight. Jones was never going to play for the Titans again. Even if Tennessee had to release Jones, it would have been a good deal. But a fourth-rounder?"
