Political Deities and God Bless America

Political Deities...................God Bless America, and God bless our President.

C-Span guest this morning talked about the real Abraham Lincoln and how no president's image should have been carved into Mt. Rushmore because it raises a political person to the stature of Deity, or one's image to be worshiped.

Jeremiah Wright's fiery sermon (if you bother to watch the full rant) echo's similar thoughts that the US government and it's actions in wars and against Native Americans should not be blessed (hence; God D--- America). That blessing is a holy attribute and is God's domain in the name of Jesus and the Lord oh mighty. There shall be no false idols.

Is this a version of the argument for and against the separation of church and state?

Reagan on a dime................Political Deity or Political Honor?

Political Deity and God Bless America..................I can see the argument and the connection.

How about you?

Is there a new awareness about to happen as a reaction to our blind patriotism?

All these people on TV are attention whore gas bags. I'm more interested in getting around to changing my oil and flushing my brake fluid. And, I'm hoping next weekend's weather is better for driving my 911 on some twisties.
