Best Cleansers, laundry detergent for a septic system???

Yes, I know, not my usual requests from the PPOT Brain trust, but here we go, nonethless....

Don't know about laundry detergents but for healthy septic systems avoid anti bacterial soaps of any kind, no bleach, don't dump coffee grinds or food items. Add Rid-X or yeast and baking soda once a month, helps keep a bacteria friendly PH.

Apparently a lot of regular detergents contain lots of "fillers". Most of these are indigestable cellulose and build up over time. The new "concentrated" formulas do away with all this.

Also, too much bleach, toilet bowl cleaner and "anti-bacterial" soaps also kill the wee-beasties that eat up all the waste and keep your bog humming...

Do NOT put cleaners or detergents into the septic system. It does not need to be cleaned. Keep everything out of your septic except water, toilet paper and poop. You only need to put Rid-X down the toilet if you accidently put stuff in that kills the bacteria and you need to restart the bacterial process. Bleach and many detergents will kill the bacteria you need for decomposition.
