Interesting....yeah that's my sig on all my emails but I'm also in the AVMA member list and other vet stuff to boot. Wonder what the scam is?

Mrs speedy here-

Yeah, this scam has been hitting Craigslist recently. The dogs are touted as amazingly adorable- I think they look like oversized hamsters with flattened faces- and the same picture. A yorkie with a blue gem necklace and a bow.

So the deal is, you don't pay for the dog, you pay for the "shipping company" that has a fake website that you pay to ship the dog overseas. Of course, you pay a flat fee with your credit card that is supposed to be $250-300 bucks- you end up getting your card maxed to the limit for a dog that doesn't exist.

When I tried to sell my horse, I got tons of people wanting to buy the horse, sight unseen, for their backyard in Africa. Uh-huh. THey were written in horrible english- I usually replied in the affirmative, I'd be happy to cash their check and wire the change to a third party- but do they want the horse shipped live or boxed in freezer wrap?

Two guys actually replied that they
would be excited to get the meat....

Mrs. Speedy,
Thanks for that. It sounds like what's going on. We all know these scams but this one had me wondering just what the scam was. I sent the email on to two other Vets to see if they got it too. No reply as yet. Will be a topic of conversation on our yearly fishing trip ;-)
