Seattle Real Estate.
It ain't all bad news in RE land.
Ran into our neighbor across the street. They are selling their home. They moved in about 4 months before we did in the summer of 2003, and paid $503K for the house. They had their place on the market for less than a week at $819, and they accepted an offer for just over $800! Not a bad turn around in 5 years. And thats with the market off at least 10% since the peak.

Yea depends on where you're at. I have a buddy down in Maple Valley who lost 10k on his house in the past year. While mine has gone up 20k, I am in rural Eastside. We bought around the same time. Maple Valley grew up to fast I think.

Lucky. That's all I have to say. Probably a really unique property. Then again anyone who can buy that place probably isn't as affected as much by what's going on with the economy.
Seattle does have a pretty stable local economy tho.

yeah, and earthquakes too. ..but no "Disaster season" like so many other places. --So, while we do have some disasters, on this coast, they are not seasonal.

Does anyone know what's happening in the SF area and/or the SF Bay area? That place has gone through a huge growth period.

2 houses across the street from me asking mid $800s, one has been on the market for 6+ months and the other for a couple of weeks. 2 years ago they would have been sold in a week above asking price. It has slowed down, lot more supply and less demand does that.
I am in Lakemont in Bellevue, just East of Seattle.
