Personal website - where to host?
Hello everyone,
I'm getting a friend to help me make a website & since my webspace in my university is about to expire, I was wondering what site I should use? Keep in mind, that I'm a recent grad who technically has a hole in my pocket, so any place cheap or free would be best! Basically, all i need it for is to have my background/resume and be able to play my videos from my resume tape and maybe some production photos...Those videos run anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes. Thanks in advance! |
I use site ground for my site, been with them for years.

there are lots of cheap places out there, like GoDaddy, Dotster, etc.. I use Yahoo. Its a few dollars more, but has more storage and much better support.

Nicole Mossinger is a Porsche fanatic who builds websites. She runs www.hookedoncars.com, and she can give you solid advice on hosting.

I use godaddy and a fellow pelican, who lives about a mile from me, gives me space on his server for free.

Godaddy is good and very cheap... about $10 to buy your domain name for a year and only $3.99 a month to host your website with a good amount of bandwidth. Ive used them a lot and have never had an issue with them.

www.goDaddy.com
I host 3 sites with them, and have done many over the years. Cheap, easy to use, great support help. Cheers! www.RoLyn.biz www.RobMcKibbon.com www.MrShuswap.com (fwd domain) |
Thanks everyone for pointing me in the right direction!!! While I'm fairly proficient with technology in a studio, I have absolutely no clue as to how any of this web stuff works (HTML/CSS/Web hosting)!
