Keep an eye on Craigs List for the area under the "free" or "furniture" sections.

I had a bit of Euro experience from a private shop and about a year ago i started at Porsche right outside of Philadelphia... So to get into the dealer here wasnt too hard because i had already had a bit of experience, but in philly was a bit harder... You have to consider Porsche tech's are kinda rare so no one is really hiring anytime of the year I just happened to get lucky and this place lost a tech so I had an in... If you are younger most places will take you on as an apprentice which still pays semi decent... typically 14-15$/hr Salary. The west coast definetly pays better then the east unless you go to florida. If you havent been to a tech school yet and plan on it. Go to UTI! They have a Porsche program call PTAP. Most dealerships looks for PTAP guys and most older techs WILL HATE YOU if you are the least bit cocky. You have to understand that just because you are trained and certified doesnt mean you know squat.. You need that hands on dealership breaking stuff experience. Give it time and my best advice is BE PERSISTENT! When i applied in philly. I called atleast twice a week. Its not being annoying its showing motivation and drive for really wanting something in life... it took me 3 weeks to get hired in philly...
