Stupid Driver Just About Killed Me!

Coming back from an out of town meeting on 2 lane state highway. Where I am at the road is straight but then has a sweeping curve to the left. Coming at me is a red firebird that comes through the curve and right into my lane. I start flashing my lights, no movement. We are both going over 60mph. I move onto the shoulder thinking he will correct and go back into his lane. He sees me and then panics and also goes onto the same shoulder. I immediately go back into my lane. We are so close we almost transfer paint. He freaks out, jerks the wheel to the left, goes through a ditch, a fence and then spins out in a field. Me and 3 other cars stop. My adrenaline is pumping. I'm wearing a suit, but sprint the 20 some odd yards to where he is. Turns out the guy is ok. He doesn't even know what happened. I want to kill him. He then starts going on about how is he going to get his car out of the field. I just walked away and got back in my car.

Should've killed him.

The gene pool needs more chlorine. Clearly.

In all seriousness, glad you're okay.

If you'd have punched him odds are it would be you that got pinched(too many witnesses).

You handled it right, and man, i do feel your pain. People are idiots.

I'm glad you were able to avoid that asshat. Did you call the police? I would've and stayed on scene until they arrived. That guy needs to be off the roads before he kills someone.

Almost the same scenario a couple of weeks ago. Except I am in a car, and some rookie motorcycle rider waaaay too fast opposite direction.

What's the first thing you learn in a 911 and a motorcycle too fast in a curve??

NEVER LIFT!. Turns out it is a girl, and a newbie. She lifts, goes down the wrong side of my car into the marbles on my shoulder. Somehow she saves it. I reverse and catch her cleaning out her pants. (figuratively only, dammit). Explain to her that I am MSI Instructor, and give her the f-laced NEVER LIFT explanation, and one minute-basic theory of Newton's 3rd, 5th and 6th laws as they relate to motorcycles.

Then I go home and clean my shorts.

My first stop anytime I am teaching a newbie on a bike is to the motorcycle salvage yard.

More than 3/4ths of the bloody, totalled bikes there have paper plates.

Oops, darn. I thought it was "half the parts are NLA, the other half are twice as expensive as they should be to make up for it" ;)
