Which drug is more Dangerous to the American Way of Life

As I see it America is facing a crisis with two very destructive drugs.

1. Meth

2. Crack

Which do you think is the most dangerous and out of control in terms of use?

Which should the government concentrate on first in the war against drugs?

Clearly prohibition has had lasting affects on our culture. At one time pot was on the forefront of the early "war". Now (as I think it should be) it is somewhat tolerated like alcohol. Where will we be in 100 years?

Other than my bit of brevity, the threat is an honest one.

Personally I think Meth is the more destructive of the two. I'd rather see LE concentrate less on the dude buying an Oz or two of "medicinal" and get concentrated busy on the horse smuggling and the meth labs springing up all over the midwest.

I'm doing all that I can with my girls to guide them clear of the rocks. BUt, as they say...we all die alone.

Naw! Time flies when you are having fun. The familiarity of the pattern dawned on me after I was accused of crack use. Out of curiosity I did the search on the word and the result was too beautiful not to share. Actually there were 50+hits! Maybe 5-10 were of another use of the word crack.

He's a regular dealer and it looks like he has some regular customers too.

Crack and meth use are just symptoms of a society's shortcomings. In the future, crack and meth will replaced by other drugs. On the manufacturing level, dealers will push new drugs that are more potent. easier to synthesize and/or cheaper to manufacture.

If our society tackles the reasons why people gravitate toward drugs, we've got a chance. However, current thinking is it's easier to throw money at enforcement and incarceration. Our prison population is busting at the seams with drug-related inmates. In 2006, the US govt. spent $6,149,144,050* to imprison drug offenders.

Agreed however, you have to deal with the current situation while trying to tackle the future or it will get out of hand fast. I'd just as soon not see the small time pot guys in the hooch if it meant more of the really bad guys could take their place.
