Can you recommend a Flat-screen TV/DVD combo?

Dudes, (and token dudettes),

I'm in the market for a 32-inch or less Flat-screen TV/DVD combo for a bedroom, let's say under $999. Anybody have any recommendations? LCD is fine, and I don't -necessarily- need it on the wall.

If it has a name I never heard of, I don't want it. I'm intrigued by the cheapo "Westinghouses" at Target and the like, but since I've . . . never . . . ever . . . seen a Westinghouse TV before I'm wary.

And no "Magnetbox" or "Sorny." Sorry, Simpsons fans!

For integrated DVD the choices are kind of limited. After an extensive search we got a Toshiba Regza 32lv67u for our bedroom. Pretty nice size and good picture quality. The integrated DVD leaves less clutter in our room. Only 720p but for a 32" not that critical to have 1080p in my opinion. We have a 42" Westinghouse 1080p for the living room and that is pretty good too. Did not like the 32" screens from Westinghouse or Sharp. Got mine for $599 at Amazon but got kind of lucky. Get them seperately, the DVD usually poops out before a tv and you do not want to have to get both replaced...

+1 Combo's are great for a kids room, but you likely will find mediocre stuff when shopping them. Regular DVD players are now like VCR's, ie: disposable.

At this stage of the game, get widescreen HD TV and BluRay DVD. A regular DVD player that allows 480p could suffice if the BluRay doesn't fit the budget.

Save time and money and head to Costco and see what they have.

FWIW I bought a nice Toshiba DVD player for just over 50 bucks new right before Christmas. They are rather small and don't take up too much room. Smaller stand alone TVs are fairly cheap these days. I'd stick with separates, when one breaks you can fix or change it out. On a combo you have a more limited choice. I just have seen what my in-laws and others around the offices do and how long the stuff lasts. The combo units just do not stand up so well from what I've seen.
