Bill Cosby on Rev. Wrong

Article from Wall Street Journal:

Rev. Wright epitomizes the thoughts and actions that have prevented and continue to prevent black America from moving ahead and achieving their potential as a people. He suggests that this United States of America made up of sons and daughters of immigrants (I'm talking of the millions of 1st, 2nd, 3rd generation immigrants in this country) of every race, creed, color and religion each and everyone of them who had nothing to do with slavery, some how owe something to a group of people who have never been slaves?

Its amazing. It seems everyone is to blame for the shambles black society is in with its violence, drugs, high school drop out rates, misogyny, and a host of other real and virulent problems, except for the very people who engage in such behavior.

Enough. As a society, culture or people, they should look within themselves and fix their problems. When did this man become the spokesman for the black church? And of course his church is different, but that doesn't mean his message and philosophy is acceptable, or productive or non-offensive or not-racist or indicative or our greater cultural behaviors, values and norms Americans.

And yes, the link between this man and Obama really does matter. At a very minimum, it provides insight into the political and philosophical strain that Obama adheres to.

The list of people I admire more than Bill Cosby is very short.

Mule 05-23-2008 11:49 AM

Will the Obamanoid left call him a racist?

lendaddy 05-23-2008 11:51 AM

Damn cracka.

widgeon13 05-23-2008 11:55 AM

Too bad Al Sharpton won't admit to that as well.

Cosby is a bright articulate person, doesn't make any difference what color the man is.

Mule 05-23-2008 11:56 AM

The REAl racists will be calling Bill, "Uncle Tom!"

They've been calling him an Uncle Tom for a long time now.

Tobra 05-23-2008 12:12 PM

Who is this Cosby person? Obviously he hates black people and is as racist as the day is long.

He needs to apologize and kiss Jessie Jackson on the ass before he gets out of "Racist Bastard Jail"

Rikao4 05-23-2008 12:21 PM

He's responsible for for his actions, and accept's the outcome of the choices he made.
Hommies in the hood, well we know it's my fault.

African culture is different than European culture and the twain shall never meet. African Americans merely have an overlay of European culture which is foreign to them over their African culture. Therefore African Americans have a different set of inherent morays than the European culture which is predominate in the USA. That is the difference that divides white and black in America. Since African Americans are the minority they have been subject to abuse by the predominate culture that doesn't share the same values. In the final analysis it is quiet understandable that the minority would feel bitter over the abuse.

tabs 05-23-2008 02:29 PM

Also the morays of African Americans have been shaped by the abuse they have suffered. For example if the laws are stacked against you, you learn not to have respect for the law and how to circumvent the laws. That is the reason why the prison population of the USA is largely African American and now increasingly Hispanic.

Religion should stay in the church where it belongs. It is lucky we allow it to exist at all.
Since when has religion been such a factor in politics. We have this retarded current President saying god talks to him and told him to invade Iraq, Whoops. Maybe he was just joking, That jesus fella is a real joker. When you talk to god, your praying. When god talks to you, your crazy.

Now, Obamas guy is so important. Who cares .
McCains guy is now in the news saying something about Hitler, and McCains in trouble.
Hitler? Shiit, wasn't that 70 years ago? Up there quoting from a book written in 350 AD. Nutjobs.
Come on people, I know it's only religion and shouldn't be taken seriously, but how has this blemish on an intelligent species progress now leeched it's way into politics?
I don't care what color your invisible friend is. I don't care what color the invisible friends of the people running for offices are.
I find it embarrassing that these religious fruitcakes and their invisible friends are even talked about in public, Lock em up.
They are religious people. They are not supposed to say things that don't sound stupid.

Religion has always been used for economic disenfranchisement.

If they're sitting in jail, they obviously haven't circumvented very well, have they? ;)

Circumvent means to go around the law to do things. It really doesn't mean that they don't get caught "circumventing" the law sometimes.

You answered your own question.

Actually, it does...

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1211586923.jpg

But my point was, if they're "getting caught", they really not circumventing...
