Bop badaba bopbada baba!
I have been working on the idea of opening a small car dealership but not jumping into the low income shark tank of the usual small dealer. So I partnered with another car aficionado and have officially established:
UnVintage Motoring, LLC Basically a small car dealership specializing in hybrids and other highly efficient vehicles. Including motor cycles and electric cars. But having access to the auctions we can find anything. 18 wheeler if need be. Maybe even run across a few p-cars. Hoping to do most of our business over the internet and be very accommodating. Offer to pick up buyer from the airport with their car at no additional charge, that sort of service. Doors should be open by June 14th. Website should be alive at the end of June. Seems stupid but dealing in cars on a daily basis has always been a dream of mine. So if it is profitable great, if not it will make a nice right off. Either way I can check off one more item on my bucket list. |

I always thought a lot with only highly rated cars - let's say by Consumers Reports would be a good angle.

I really feel that if you keep from doing trade ins and in house financing selling cars is recession proof. You just have to be willing to keep your inventory small so you can change it on a whim. I.e. selling dump trucks in a construction boom to selling motor cycles in a gas crunch. In return you can this adds personal service which brings a touch of class.
BTW, if anyone wants to attend an auction with me and look for any type of car they are more the welcome. I will charge a flat fee for the service and buyer pays all auction related fees and car cost (which will be cash on hand). |

Sounds good Terry - I might take you up on that offer when I look for a car for my daughter later this year.
