The crowds around the memorials here in DC should be quite substantial today. Even though my wife and I live within walking distance from them, we'll steer clear of the memorials and parades today. We're lucky enough to see them throughout the year.

Lets remember all those that have served and given everything for their country.

I just visited w/ a very good friend, my age, who did 3 tours in SE Asia (Vietnam) as a helicopter pilot. We work EMS and ski patrol together. It's always a tough day for him. He's fortunate he came back after 3 tours and he is a great friend but there's no doubt it effected him.

Makes my military service look like a walk in the park. I'm very lucky to have him as a friend.

Everyone should take a moment of silence today to remember all those that have fallen to give us and keep our freedoms.

All have passed on now, and their memories are alive in my heart, and thanks for not only their service, but their guiding wisdom
