it's official....relocating to florida....

my wife michelle and i have finalized some details and it's on, last week we were in the orlando area for a little vacation and the search of possibilities.....
my new job is in ocala, so that's where we're moving.
put in my 3 week notice at my current job, michelle put in a "tenative" 5 week notice at hers, so she will be coming down after i get things situated with our new townhouse and such.
i'll be packing up house and moving everything down the weekend of june 14th, i'll be leaving my rav4 behind and will fly home to get it in a month or so, which means the 911 will be on a trailer behind the moving van, i'll use it as my daily driver until i can bring down my rav4.
we're going to have a huge yard sale in 2 weeks to get rid of a bunch of stuff, what doesn't sell i'll donate to a local church or something.

a big step for me as i've never moved farther than an hour away, but is a stepping stone to where i want to be in a few years.....
should be fun....

yea were pretty excited and nervous all at the same time
looking forward to to smooth roads and the many events down there, i also found out that one of my best friends parents are building their new house about 1.5 hours away from where we'll be (they spend the summer in ohio and winter in florida), so i'll get to see him when he gets back from iraq, he's an e30 m3 fanatic......TIMMAAYYY is his name
going to be a hectic couple of weeks though, tonite i'm finishing dismantling all my fish tank setups so i can sell them and start fresh when i get there........
i saw your tank jim, good stuff, just wait til you see what i have planned for my breeding pair of oscars

i managed to make this happen AND keep my 911.....some things had to fall into place perfectly for this to happen, and they did with some bonuses to boot.
i had done my research on the audio industry in florida (with alot of help from a friend who works for JL Audio in miami), and went down with some very specific goals in mind, i dropped my resume off at one company which has 4 stores as they are IT in florida.....the salesman said they weren't hiring but would get it to the owner.
20 minutes later my phone rang with a call from owner of the ocala store, got a good vibe so headed to ocala to check it out. to make a long story short it's exactly what i was looking for, and everything fell into place.
i think we'll really enjoy this, i'm looking forward to the new challenge as things in ohio have simply become too ritualistic, michelle is looking forward to being closer to disney.....

Good luck on the move. I'd hate to move again. I just moved everything out of my house to put in hardwood floors and that was a major PITA!

i also got in touch with an old friend who happens to be a stuntman/coordinator now, it was good to see him succeed after he dissapeared back in the early 90's, we visited his property in groveland (read the stix) and he educated us on fire ants, love bugs and their paint eating abilities, gators, etc......
i'm sure i'll be doing some autocrosses soon after i get there, not going to look at the sched though until i'm there

byron reminds me of me with his escapades, just more toys
i got the plates to my atv trailer, the blaster 350 is just about wrapped up so that's coming with me too, so i'll have to find a place to ride

that's why we're having a big ass yard sale, we'll buy new stuff when we get there, the biggest things we're taking is the bed, couch, my 32"tube tv, some small furniture, a whole bunch of boxes, and my garage stuff.

i had 3 oscars, they all went to my friends tank for the time being ( here... www.monsterfishrescue.com ) , one didn't make it and died after we moved them, the other two have paired up and are mating
i will probably bring them with me when i fly home to get the rav4 if i have a tank setup in time.
