Have you tried Craigslist, local & free.

Good luck!!

Sounds like it's time for a little Guerrilla marketing campaign!

The resources that first come to mind are eBay & Auto Trader (autotrader.com). You should definitely maximize your free web exposure as well. As mentioned, a craigslist ad would be a no-brainer.

There are a ton of other free auto classified sites out there worth submitting ads to. Here are just a few that I have bookmarked:

http://www.pmletter.com/
http://www.porschatrader.com
http://www.porscheclassified.com
http://www.roadfly.com/porsche/classifieds/cars
http://www.autoexotic.com/temps/index.cfm
http://www.motoclassifieds.us
http://autoexplosion.com/cars/sell
http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/sell_car
http://www.usedcarpark.com/cars/sell

I'd probably stick it in the local PCA mag/website as well.

Good luck!

If you like the car...have you thoight about a title loan?

bell 05-31-2008 07:34 PM

i'll look into it tuesday (my credit union is closed mon)......i really want to pull this off without going into debt, michelle and i have minimal debt right now and i'd like to keep it that way.
i absolutely love my 911, over the past 8 years we have bonded pretty close, sure i'm going to hate to start over with another 911 down the road, but it's one of my only options right now.......

I read your ad. It was well written, but you should post the miles on the car????

Will they do title loans on a vehicle as old as an air-cooled 911?

artplumber 06-01-2008 08:36 AM

Why not a simple line of credit (you want to write checks and have lower interest vs a credit card right)?

FWIW, I sent a link to the ad to a friend who lives in Florida...maybe he'd like to add a topless old P-car to his fleet...

I don't see why not. My company does title loans, and we'd do one on a car like that, so long as it had a current appraisal and we can stick a gps unit it there. (though we couldn't do this car in particular because we can't do cross-border loans.) In fact, a "collector" car in many ways is a better bet than a late model minivan, because they're more likely to be better taken care of and driven less therefore less likely to be in an accident.

Have you checked with the local PCA???

Remember, if you sell the car now, while the market is soft, it will cost you much more than the points of a loan when it comes time to replace. How about some side jobs???
