				Got the Kids a Dog!

Last week while I was in Ohio, our Son called me and said "Dad, I'm holding the greatest dog ever!" "Where are you?" "PetSmart Dad." Thinking that Momma broght them to pet the puppies but he told me they were their to buy a doggie bed! "Put Momma on please Son." A freind of ours rescues cats - she got a call about an elderly women going into Hospice. With no family wanting the dog the Hospice nurse had called up this person and told her the story. She took the dog and thought of us. She called up Momma dn the rest is history. The dog is old - best case is that she is at least 8. Very well behaved - a Jack Russell mix, maybe Rat Terrior - I don't know. She is perfect with the kids and very loving. Any idea what flavor she is?

I've had four Jack's, which she looks like except for the coloring...Jack's are usually white with brown spots unless they are rough coat. I don't think it matters a bit. She is what she is, your dog. My bet is that she wear the kids out with dog love.

While on dogs, I have a large male Rott, about 5 days ago, a stray mama dog and a several month old pup of hers showed up at my place. I live in a rural area, and it seems that a lot of people use the rural areas to dump pets they no longer want. I have not been able to find out what type of dog she and her female puppy are yet. They are black reasonably short haired, but they have natural short tails. I thought the mama dog was pregnant, from how bloated he belly looked. 2 days after they showed up, she looked thinner, and after I fed all of the dogs, I went back outside, and I saw her carrying a tiny puppy in her mouth, and she took it under my hot-tub deck. Yes, she had her pups, and decided to move in. I think that she had three, 2 solid black, 1 black with white spots...sort of the reverse coloring of a Dalmation. The new puppies also have the little short tails. I guess it will be a few days till she gets ready to let me meet the rest of her family. She and her yearling puppy are as friendly as can be, and they know things, like tell them to sit, they do, and so on. They seem to be just happy to have someone to feed and to talk to them. I don't really need anymore dogs other than the oneI already had, he can put his front paws on my shoulders, and look me in the eye. He is huge, but a playful baby, to me. I would not want to be on his bad side if I were someone doing something around my place they should not be doing. He stays in his fenced yard and he knows it is HIS PROPERTY when it comes to strange vehicles and people. O-well just expounding a little.

She is the sweetest dog you could ask for- she loves the kids but does follow Mamma around and me when I come home. The only thime she barksis at other dogs or people walking by our home but she is very friendly with people and seems to get along with other dogs once they sniff each others butts.

Congrats, Lube, she looks like a sweetheart. This guy's 1st birthday is Monday (he's getting a new dog bed. Don't say anything, I want it to be a suprise ) He's my first dog, and is an absolute joy to have around. Plus, nothing gets the mind off of a crappy day at work like a 2 mile hike/run in the park with my new friend. Have fun, Jim | ||
