More on Recession
I can't find a link to an article by Alex Veiga, business writer for USA Today that appeared in our local rag. He reports on a Sacramento drywall company that did 30 M in'05. In a nutshell, the company did less than 15 M in '07 and is looking at a projection of 8 M this year. 26 consecutive months of less sending in residential construction as of 4/08. I guess there's still some commercial work out there.
The statement of note: "For every job lost in construction you generally lose a little more than one more job elsewhere in the economy." -- Mark Zandi, Economy.com That's kind of a silent killer. |
No matter how bad you think you have it, it's worse in Michigan.
Trust me on this. |
Oh, I do. I know. I'm sure the same premise works in the auto industry and other manufacturing.
