Valentine One hidden power cord - anyone tried one like this?

Stumbled across this earlier today; a quick look at the back of the mirror on my Volvo V70 shows power there (auto-dimming I guess). Has me kind of intrigued to get rid of the power cord hanging down.

Thoughts?

make a coil cord out of phone handset cord.

I rigged up one on my M.B. that's similar using a standard modular plug that's tapped into a hot + and - under the dash. Cord runs up the pillar and across the top of the windshield, then down just above the mirror very similar to what's done there.

IIRC the V1 kit comes with everything you need to do it (including the wire taps). Nothin' fancy - just have to figure out a clever routing for your car and a way of keeping it from pulling out. That's about it.

My cable looks the same. You can use the cable from the back of a regular telephone. I have one in black, not the coiled handset, but the flat phone-to-wall wire.

I run it up the A pillar tucked in behind the A pillar trim, across the top of the windshield. Then down from the top middle of the windshield, loop once around the rearview mirror arm, and then sideways to the mirror. I don't have any dangling cables.

Thanks guys - should have been more clear. Was thinking about this for my Volvo V70, which has power at the mirror itself, so I wouldn't have to snake the wire around the windshield. Will investigate further and see about just using a short piece of telephone cable plugged directly into the mirror.
