Montreal F1 with notfarnow (pics)
Today I met Notfarnow (Jake) from New Brunswick and we went to Montreal F1 Grand Prix PCA get togheter on Crescent street. I have to say that this Jake from New Brunswick is a real gentleman. We got lot of fun there along with a great lunch. That just show how great is Pelican Communauty. Last year I met Mr. Joe Aksa (another gentleman) with the help of that great board...There are some pics of our day...the gang was smaller than last year...but the fun was bigger...!

I should have arranged to meet up with you guys at some point. I didn't even see the 911's! I did see the Ferrari's on Friday night on Peel street, and I saw more Gallardo's this weekend then I have ever seen before, I was quite impressed with them...Good race, where were you sitting? We were in Section 33, saw lots of drama...

I'd love to join you guys one of these years - if I ever get the 930 done(should be this month) and the CGP still exists *sniff*. Looked like fun!

Syl,
Thanks and was thinking of our getting together yesterday while watching the race! Will make it back up there again someday. Glad the weather worked out and it looks like it was very nice up there. Would have loved to have met Jake and you guys and seen the race but too busy here at home. Joe

What a great time. Met Syl & his wife in the morning, then we headed downtown
![]() cars lined up on crescent st: ![]() Had a nice brunch with Syl & his bride, then spent some time with Syl checking out the other cars. Syl's '84 Targa is a clean, clean car. Sounds great too... dad's car has the stock exhaust, the monty setup on syl's sounds fantastic in comparison. One funny thing I noticed: There were several 100k+ Porsches there, but people really gravitated towards the "classic" 911s. It's a shape people recognize and appreciate. People seems to wander past the newer stuff, but then stop to check out the earlier cars. Syl's Targa and my dad's cab are is a LOT of family photos, with smiling kids standing beside them. Syl and his wife headed out in the early afternoon: ![]() I stuck around to check out other cars, and get heatstroke.

By 2pm or so, I had seen all the cars and it was getting busy on Crescent & Peel and chatted with owners.
One thing that happens when you get A LOT of people in a small space, is that the typically small percentage of idiots starts to really stand out. Many people were posing beside the car, but now and then parents would let their kids lean against the cars... no big deal, unless they have a big sloppy icecream cone. I hate being an arse and running over to shoo them away, but it's not my car so I really had to. At one point I looked over and two kids were sitting on the bumper posing for a shot, pushing and shoving. Mom was snapping pics, laughing. I was a bit cranky, because just a few minutes earlier they had been asked to stop doing the very same thing on Syl's friend's 944. Anyway, I was getting REALLY hot, a bit cranky and my brother showed up so we left and headed to little italy: Some more cars: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() By 3pm, I was so hot I was sick with heatsroke. My brother and I headed to his place... I had 2 beer and fell asleep for almost 2 hours. Lol
