Saw neat car and need help with ID of it
It looked like a Pantera but I swear the license plate said "Lambo" on it. I could see the the 4 - headlights (2 each side) through the grill but I'm sure they were pop up style. The tail lights looked like a Pantera style. If you guys have a guess post it up and if possible add a pic. I looked on Ebay for a Ferrari and a Lambo but nothing I saw on there that really 'looked' like it. Help me out....

Was it new or an old (I mean classic) car?

Nothing like those. It looked like it was from the '70s. Red, if that makes any difference. The back end looked like a Pantera with the definite two square brake/tail light cluster. But I didn't see a Pantera emblem. The front is what's throwing me off with those headlights visible through the grill.

Problem is that so many people have taken a lot liberties with the lambo and Pantera what you saw may not be anywhere near stock.

Maybe this will help out some. I don't think it was a Pantera but the silhouette was very similar.

Perhaps a Urraco? Pantera-ish, especially in back.

Heh heh. People are posting up all sorts of pics of Italian exotica. In the end, someone will post a pic of a Pinto, Gremlin, or ebay abomination, and wcc will exclaim, "Yeah, that's it!"

Anyways, that Urraco looks sort of like it except for the front end. Did they have have a model with a wire mesh grill that you could see the headlights through?

Maybe John Fitch in his Corvair-based Fitch Phoenix? He drives it to Lime Rock often.

Thank you. It seemed obvious to me, but then maybe that's not it. The apparent difference between the Detomasa Mangusta was that the rear deck was split in two and raised like a Model T hood. The Pantera is hinged like a 944.
A Lamborghini Muria looks the part as well, but when is the last time you saw one of those fabulous cars?! ![]() ![]() Last edited by milt; 06-06-2008 at 07:03 PM.. |

![]() Probably a Mangusta - seems to fit the second description from Bill. |

Maserati built many heaps circa 1980 that resembled the Pantera. I think they were sold by Chrysler for a while.
