"Fear Itself" - Anyone else see it? Impressions?

I saw this new program last night and liked it to a degree. But I had heard/seen almost none of the promos for it. Is it supposed to be a modern take on "The Twilight Zone" or "One Step Beyond" series? A weekly scary show with no connection by story or character to the last episode?

Of course to someone my age it falls well short of those classics, but I imagine to someone younger it may seem like a new idea to have that sort of show on weekly tv. You younger than say 35ish guys, what do you think, if you saw it?

As for the first episode? I thought it left some questions hanging but it certainly looked good. The location was cool and the minimal effects looks good. Opinions?

(And if one of you turns this into a political thread I'm sending Nosferatu over to meet you!:D)

I'm not in the under 35 crowd, but I've got some opinions anyway. Too many unanswered questions, like (spoiler alert)
  1. Why did they have so many guns?
  2. How did their buddy get injured in the first place?
  3. Were the girls descendants of the original Romanians, or are they unnaturally old?
  4. Why is there a road leading up to their compound?

Geez, sounds like LOST. I stopped watching that show after the 4th episode.
I'll give it a shot next week though if it's kindasortamaybe like Twilight Zone, Outer Limits. The remake of the Outer Limits was even better than the original IMHO.

  3. Never really explained. I especially had a problem with them having two fully sutomatic weapons. They could have simply put in a throw away line about friends going out to fool around withtheir guns and it would have explained it as much as necessary.

  5. They DID expalin that but I almost missed it. Somethging about being in a boat 9fishing?) and getting skewered by a low hanging branch....but I didn't see why his being injured to start off with was necessary to the story. The car could have broken down because of the trap laid (presumably) by the women at the fort whether he was injured or not.

  7. Kind of intimated that they were descendants since they had never been outside of the compound, but you had to extrapolate that.

Who knows?

I wondered how this Nosferatu critter could go for decades (centuries?) without being killed but these guys come along and they kill him in a day or so....

Nevertheless, I thought the show has a solid enough premise it ought to go...at least for awhile.
