'05 Audi allroad 4.2 vs '08 VW passat VR6 4motion wagon

Comparable prices for comparable mileaged vehicles. Anyone have thoughts or experience in either one? I'm leaning toward the V8 allroad...but the Mrs. has other ideas.

One will break down a lot but the other one will be unreliable.

Nice looking vehicles, though. Between the two I think I can look into the future and say the board will likely suggest going with the '08 VW and the new car warranty.

Have an 03' allroad, and unless the VW also has the height adjustment I would go allroad. I've gone through some massive snowdrifts in mine. I have just over 65k on mine, just did the 60k service in fact and not one problem so far, all happy miles. One difference though, and this is big I think, mine is the 2.7 twin turbo.
