if you give me a spoon that bad boy will be on ebay before you can say Jackie Chan...

I prefer Lucy Liu...

U see our friend Moses is quiet oxidental...very objective and quanitative. While he understands the subjective and qualitative he denys their existence as being antithetical to his western training and up bringing.

tabs 06-09-2008 03:56 PM

Lubby and Wayne fall into the same trap among others.

I'd hit it.

I operate in what some in the west would call the twlight zone...one of imagiantion and intution. What must be unsettling to the oxidentals is the level of accuracy that I have. Which is far beyond the level of probablity.

tabs 06-09-2008 04:28 PM

Intution is merely data being sent via the five senses to the CPU which is processing that data and sending out signals as to the probable course of events.

wow, all this chatter from an article that talks about a rescue operation. You guys stop for a moment and think about the 10s of thousands that got buried alive, sons, daughters, mothers, brothers, friends. People that lost their homes, livelyhoods and loved ones?

Are we so absorbed in our own lives and political righteousness that we do not even recognize the human tragedy?

They may live half a world away, look different, speak a language you may not understand and come from a culture you may not care about but they are human beings not different from you.

Where is your sense of humanity that you would joke about sweatshops when babies are buried alive in a earthquake? Imagine that for a moment, buried alive. Your son, daughter, your wife, yourself buried alive.

With 6,500,000,000 people in the world soon headed for 9,000,000,000 people by 2030 life is cheap...

Porsche-O-Phile 06-09-2008 10:08 PM

It's called satire.

In this case, pointing out the inherent contradiction in America sitting in front of their televisions (or computer screens) waiting with baited breath for news about the quake victims or whether "quake lake" is going to overflow and kill thousands more.

If we REALLY gave a damn about these people, we'd be a bit more concerned about their day-to-day plight, wouldn't we?

But I guess we gotta' have those $4 shirts at WalMart. Like tabs correctly said, "life is cheap", right? It's a lot simpler to just give ourselves a "feel-good" pat on the back, pretend to care and go right back to exploiting them when things return to normal.

?.
why is so hard to take out a good portion of the 'wall ',
if they are using TOW's to make drainage runs,
why not supersize and go 'cruise dart' ?.

QINGLIAN, China: Chinese soldiers used antitank weapons to blast away rocks and mud holding back waters in an earthquake-formed lake that threatens more than one million people living downstream with flooding.

****

Soldiers fired weapons at debris Sunday, according to reports on television and official Web sites. The operation successfully dislodged debris to speed the drainage, though the level of the lake continued to rise as water flowed in along the blocked river behind the dam, Xinhua, the official Chinese news agency, reported.

Typical communist incompetence!

The high-explosives in anti-tank weapons are not the preferred blasting agent to use in such an earth-moving application.
