I didn't understand the artical. Get rid of all traffic signs and speed limits? A 45mph curve is the same as a 15mph curve?
Ughhhh, ok, whatever. Lubby, I didn't think traffic moved at all in China. Don't they all just move forward slowly and cautiously, jockying for position, untill there are four or five bumper touchng? |
The point is that artificially low speed limits do more harm than good.

Starting to see more and more round-a-bouts in my area, and I love it. Although I'm still seeing idiots not yielding when they need to, hopefully that will change as more of them pop up.
I would agree that "safer" vehicles are making conditions worse in that people think they are in this indestructible tank and think less of other drivers. Put them in a Miata or a Mini and see how their outlook changes. Heck, make them ride a Ninja 250 on the freeway and see how they react. My old CBR600 was scary enough the first time I ran it at 70mph with big trucks around. |
Safe ?
Americans can do just about anything to their car. Hotwheels for 18 yr. olds, these cannot be safe..but I see them all day long. Then there is the Monstertruck jacked to Mars. The bumpers as designed help/ put them a foot higher =killbar. In Europe, the car comes like this=you drive it like that. Any mods must be approved, and they don't come easy or cheap. When americans talk about the autobahn ( cool , no limit ) once on it...they are scared to death..as you must really drive & pay attention, or you become roadkill. Rika |
