And LG is the potential buyer for the GE appliance sector.
|
Just got a new "GE".
Model GSH22JFTE BB. It was about $1k at Home Depot. Filtered water and ice in the door. It keeps up. Fantastic. KT |
Had a GE and it was a POS. Ice dispense mechanics died and I repaired them. I was shocked how incredibly cheap this machine was put together. It quit cooling well (after about 4 years of ownership) and we tossed it. I have had poor luck with GE appliances overall and will not buy them any more.
Went to Costco for a Samsung. Very nice machine. Had it for 1.5 years without issues. Much better build quality and design than anything else out there in the $1k price range. Plenty of ice and a very nice dispense mechanism. George |

Hes the one that talked me out of buying one. basically said "If you want a status symbol buy one. If you want a reliable appliance stay away". He also warned me about the $2000 Fridgidare we bought, but the wife liked it and insisted on it. Sure enough the problems we had with it 5 months after buying it where exactly what he said. ( defrost timer and water filter housing, and icemaker electronic board). I had my grandparent's 50 yo GE fridge in the garage for beer. That thing still cranked out he cold like it was brand new.:D |
