Green Oil

"Environmentalists" wake up in the middle of the night sweating and whimpering about offshore oil platforms only because they've never seen what's under them. This proliferation of marine life around the platforms turned on its head every "expert" opinion of its day.

Sunken ships make great artificial reefs for marine life as well.

How far does your Porsche go on the products of sunken ships?

I no longer have a Porsche...my Ford goes about 18 mpg on the Oregon required 10% ethanol blend. Down about 10% from it's gasoline days.

Point being...Oil rigs are good for marine life, gives them habitat. But this isn't a recent discovery...

Kendall 20W50 was green years ago (the color green that is). Does that mean that it was ahead of it's time?

it is if you've had your head up your arse for an extended period of time

Actually these can be great for certain types of marine life. That is until there is an accident. Then it's not so good...

Check the amount of oil that naturally seeps into the ocean.

This may surprise some of the dogmatic environmentalists.

A good greenie can't help it. Ya'll must have missed this part:
"Most oil spills occur from tankers, not production platforms or pipelines. Tankers are used to transport foreign oil here. We'd use less foreign oil if restrictions on offshore oil drilling were removed. Never mind that with the Mideast mess and Chavez in power in Venezuela we'll soon have less to transport here anyway. "

Katrina tore hundreds of platforms to sheds. Find one article about a spill! We do it better than anybody. Do you think those Chinese platforms are as good?

You guys can't buy a clue with a borrowed credit card!

So let's see, we can import less, pay less, with less risk to the ecology, PLUS cause sea life to blossom, OR we can prepare for MANBEARPIG! He's coming!

You can find way more incidents of a leftie being correct about something than you can of offshore oil platform spills. And that's saying something!

There was a time when oil was an alternative fuel. In comparison to the sufuric coal and wood burning trains, petroleum products were quite "green".

That was a hundred years ago, though, when flocks of passenger pigeons blotted out the sun for days at a time, and the hills were carpeted with buffalo.

You guys are the best! You DO understand that what I'm advocating is to produce the oil here and avoid the use of tankers huh? Maybe this will help. I know they are very similar in appearance. I also know I'm dealing with liberalism impaired brains. Are you concerned about the fronts falling off of oil rigs?

Now it's just called Brad Penn (i.e. BP "is" the Kendall from years ago)

No doubt! The first time I tied off to an oil platform 50 miles offshore is the first time I got tired of fishing. I got my limit of beautiful red snapper as fast as I could reel them in.

I'm sure there's a negative here but it will probably take the mind of a leftie to discern the true meaning.
