Liberal media horse pudding.

Seriously? This article is a joke.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25164928/

I'm an eco-lovin' Seattlite. We're a 'four trash bin' family (Garbage, recycle, compost, plastic bags). But articles like this are just BS.

From the headline, you would think that the Bush administration had been handing out 30-06s in the Rose garden.

Vibrations, noises, unusual scents and the presence of industrial equipment can disrupt their quest for prey and their efforts to raise their young in snow dens.

LOL. Well god forbid mankind causes a 'vibration' in the frozen north.....

Ask 100 people if they support drilling in the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge. Of those that say 'No', ask them to locate said area on a map. If 10% can do so, its a freaking miracle.

Meanwhile, there is an ever growing island of plastic particles in the Pacific the size of Texas.....perhaps we should focus on that while there is still life in the North Pacific, yes?

This is the first I've heard of this... After a bit of research, it seems to technically make sense, but why can't I find any aerial photos of it?

Not sure if you can see small suspended plastic particles from the air...you have to go there:

Its not a mat floating on the surface. Small particles and pieces floating just beneath the surface. I have seen figures all over the map about how much is out there, so I won't quote any. But its not a good thing, thats for sure.....

Cousteau said that in when he first started exploring the oceans, they were teaming with fish and there was almost no evidence of man. He also said that this radically changed in his lifetime.

Of course he has been dead for a while.
