If I went to court, I would be my own lawyer and yes I could manage. 3/4 of my family are lawyers, sometimes, it's like living in a court. |

Don't ask why but I'm looking for recommendations. Don |

I'm not sure what you mean by switching the venue to a county seat? Can I get it moved to L.A. county? If I could get it moved to Van Nuys, I doubt the CHP officer would be able to show up. :D |

I'm not an attorney, and this is not legal advice. YMMV |
Here's how I do it in Missouri.
Get ticket - usually for speeding, running yellowish/red lights, etc. Fax or email ticket to lawyer. Pay ammended violation for littering or loud muffler - now original fine is doubled + court costs. No points on license and moving violation is not reported to insurance company. Owe lawyer a favor, usually ballgame tickets or a nice bottle of booze. Usually happens twice a year - some years less. Had 2 this year already. One was for speeding in a construction zone (42 in a 30 )and I'm in the construction business. I had not reached the place where the work was being completed but the officer didn't seem to care. I even showed him my hard hat. |
