Does anyone here work in the media?
 

Was wondering if anyone here works in the media? i.e. TV news, newspapers, magazines, radio? Anything media related, or behind the scenes as well?

I do sort of. I work for a wire service that feeds into the AP. I was a member of the Nat. Press Club before I moved away from DC.

I am a retired newspaper advertising manager, 30 years exp. at a major daily, does that help?

I'm a web designer at a major west coast newspaper group.

Work in/with the marketing dept. here at the college...

I've been a Director of Photography for over 20 years and shot over 700 TV commercials and several TV shows and a couple of movies. I also own a small Viral Production company.

I deliver newspapers 3 nights a week.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm launching a site that is geared toward people working in all aspects of the media. It's a bulletin board, similar to the way our host works. I indirectly work with many people in the media, and felt that no appropriate forum exists for them to interact in. While there are a few out there, nothing is really so simple to utilize.

It is in it's early stages and we have not yet made a big blitz with it yet. Anyhow, if you could take a look at it before we take it further, and let me know what you think, it would be greatly appreciated. Even better, please spread the link to anyone else you know in the media so they can give their 2 cents as well. Please join up and add some discussion if you can. Special thanks to Wayne for letting me borrow some language for the terms of use.
