I had a pro do it and, while it looked DIY'able on the Mini, I don't think it would be on the 993 with those window frames and hard-to-reach rear window. $160 and the guy did a great job.

I'd go along with what the vast majority have said. It's just one of those things that can be done much more efficiently by a pro if you are looking for perfection. Eric offered some good advice... the cheapest guys are mobile, and are often the same guys that are doing it for the shops. Maybe ask around some auto detailing shops to find some guys in your area.

I am pretty sure the "darkness" (percentage of light the tint transmits) plays a substantial part in the heat (I/R) rejection, reflectance, etc..

I never said anything about U/V protection, but it's kind of a moot point as most quality tint films out there already block 99% of U/V at any shade already (including nearly transparent). Plus U/V contributes very little to the heat factor.

So, I will reiterate my statement:
The Huper Optik premium stuff will reject significantly more heat than most tint films out there at a given % of light transmittance ("darkness"). It will just cost you 2-3x more.
