Got the Lewis Machine gun firing pretty good!

What a way to spend Fathers Day with your Dad test firing the Lewis on the British SE5a! I had posted a video a while back and most commented that is was firing too slow so we changed the drive servo and picked up the rate a bit. We did not think the gas would feed in fast enough to keep it firing but it is so the next step is to replace the current servo with even a faster one and try to get it around 350rm. You can hear the home made cam lobe is not perfect or as smooth as it should be so I may make a new one of those to so it smooths it out.

If it's not shooting thru the prop, why does it need to be "timed"?

We were trying to time the rounds per min, trying to get it up around 300 (we have a ways to go) The only gun that shot thru the prop was the vickers mounted on the fuselage.
