It's official. New Nissan GT-R is a POS
It appears that the tranny has a tendency to blow up, like quick.
http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/racers-lounge/999036-gt-r-biggest-let-down-ever.html $Nissan is quoting $20K to replace the tranny when you turn off the VDC and drive it. Black box rats you out$ rjp

entertaining the idea

I've read worse details on other forums. That car can't get worse press unless it had a V8
So after 5 or 6 launches, my stock 25 year old 944 should take a GT-R off the line since it's tranny will most likely resemble ground beef...lol

A few months ago Nissan took the GT-R to the famed Nurburgring in Germany and completed it in a very fast time of 7:29. Well now Porsche is speaking out and saying that Nissan cheated in order to record that record time. Porsche recently took the US-spec GT-R to the ring with its 911 Turbo and GT2. Unfortunately the GT-R could not compete with the two German cars and came in a full 25 seconds slower than the time that Nissan recorded. “This wonder car with 7:29 could not have been a regular series production car,” August Achleitner, the 911 product chief for Porsche, told CARSguide. “For us, it’s not clear how this time is possible. What we can imagine with this Nissan is they used other tyres.” According to Achleitner, Nissan could have only achieved their record time by using “semi-slick race-style tires.” Porsche clocked the GT-R at 7:54 while the GT2 came in at 7:34 and the 911 Turbo at 7:38. Wonder what Nissan is going to say about this?

Didn't Nissan respond by suggesting that their drivers would be happy to personally show up and give the Porsche guys some pointers on how to achieve that time of 7:29?
