Ohhh The Blood

As I have posted on Thursday I went in for dental surgery. The removal of a tooth broken while eating a salad and the placing of 2 implants. The other was for a tooth broken on a Kalmata Olive while you guessed it eating a salad. That will teach ya to eat fking salads...

So Thursday morning I get into the Periodontists office and while I am sitting in the chair waiting I have the urge to get up and run outa the place screaming...NOT TODAY!!! However I overcame my DREAD...can't say fear but just out and out dread. They gave me a coupla Halcon tabs to bring me down then placed the IV in to put me out. Thank God for being OUT....

Why I was under I heard the Periodontist say...."Why the fk won't this drill go in." a little later I heard him say, "Give me the hammer...no not the small one the other one." After that they turned up the solution in my arm and all I remember is being told to get up now after over 4 hours of surgery....with blood running down my chin... I staggered to the counter..and being placed in a wheel chair...

How I ever drove home is beyond me as all I remember is weaving in and out of traffic. I had to stop at Wally World to fill a pain pill prescription before I went home. I really musta bin a sight to see as I had blood running out of my mouth and dripping off my chin...luckily I was wearing a red plaid sport shirt or the blood would have been more noticeable on it. As it was I left a trail of blood to and from the prescription counter. Somebody asked me if I was alright and I said, "Do I look like I am all right.?" As I staggered out of the store.

So somehow I got home and collapsed in my chair where I slept for I don't know how many hours. Tonight is the first that I feel up to even doing anything, as the pain is driving me howling mad..even though I have been hitting the Codeine pretty hard...Ohhh well at least I am not bleeding as much as I was earlier.

Hmm, your doctor is nothing like mine. My doctor insisted that I get a friend to pick me up and now I am glad I did. You should not have been driving like that.

As well he sent the perscription into the drugstore the day before the surgery so that I could pick it up when I was feeling fine, not all doped up.

Unless you really like this doctor you might look elsewhere. This one is not thinking of his patients very much IMHO.

Most any Dr. that is going to do IV sedation, will NOT do anything to you if you don't have transportation for you afterwards. There have been many people that have had bad outcomes from trying to drive after the work is done. Plus you can also be arrested for DUI(driving under the influence), DWI(driving while impaired), DUID(driving under the influence/impaired by drugs/medications), it is just too dangerous to drive after this type of sedation. Glad you made it home OK. Good luck with the mouth!! Tony.

I am so tired today...the codeine and booze seems to help with the pain but not the oozing of the blood...

Try not to mix too much of those two ingredients, as they are both neuro depressants, and you could just stop breathing, and never wake up. At least it would solve the pain plus most of that oozing. Take care, Tony.
