you got lucky, you landed the first punch, you could have been locked up for assault instead of typing on your computer, and that over over some spit on yer windshield
(which comes off way better then bird crap, spray, wipe, done)

I always tell people - the first thing to do before hitting somebody....

is to look for a security camera.

m21sniper 06-29-2008 04:31 PM

Exactly, so the other security staff can both appreciate and canonize your exploit. :-P

If you're looking for a fight, you can always find one, and there's always someone that can "whup ya", pull a weapon, etc. Even if you "win", these days, you'll likely "lose" too. I find it almost laughable that some of "us", approaching middle age, are still "fighting" :). I'm not a "fighter", and will certainly defend myself if I "HAVE" too, but that is the method of last resort for me.

You may wish to put to consideration that practice makes perfect.

Having never fought in your adult life, how well do you think you could possibly do against some thug that has had dozens(or more) street fights, is used to the taste of his own blood, and who knows just what he's capable of?

Think about it.

Life is all about getting lucky.

Fighting is about doing what is right. I would hate to spend my life as a pussy because I was afraid of being hurt.

I have always been afraid to get hurt but it hasn't stopped me from hitting fists with my face until I was unconscious.

Bill Douglas 06-29-2008 04:58 PM

LOL

A couple of years ago i got beaten up by a guy about the size of a gorilla. I'm sure i haven't been right in the head since.

There are a lot of tough guys here, it would be awesome to have a PPOT boxing match, find a gym somewhere, rent out some gloves, controlled conditions, and see who comes out the winna!

I'd pay-per-view for that!

I have too many people relying on me to be stupid.

There, fixed it for ya.

All a PPOT boxing match would show is who is the best boxer, not who is the best fighter.

Last time was about 10 years ago, but it was in a hockey game. This A-hole was head hunting all night, even knocked out a guy on my team in the middle of the game, not even playing the puck. Last few minutes of the game I see him aiming for me this time. So I gave him about 3" of butt end to the chest to slolw him down a bit. He drops and came up swinging! I landed three nice shots to the jaw and take out a few teeth. That stunned him a bit, I got a few more punches in and by then I was exhausted! Once we fell to the ice the linesmen broke it up. Good thing too, as he was about 6'4" 240lbs. and at least 10 years younger than me! (I'm 6' 165lbs and now 49 yrs old!) Even his own teammates thought he deserved to have his ass handed to him! The linesman asked if I was alright when he skated me off the ice, because I was moving so slow, I told him I was too tired to move! He just laughed and said "I was too old to dance, but I still had a little fight left in me" Old habits die hard! thought I was back playing in college again!
they finally threw the guy out of the league for being such a goon. Me, I had to sit out three cames and watch from the bar and drink beer! Well worth it.

I did once in College and she broke up with me. Good thing because I had ***** all over my fist!

I'm not afraid to fight, but I just don't go looking for trouble like some do, and I've never HAD to...that's the point. I've found that folks who think "practice makes perfect" in regards to physical confrontations eventually end up getting hurt bad, dead, or in jail ...it simply comes with the territory. The harsh reality is, there are LOTS of people who could kick my a$$ AND yours too, there's absolutely no doubt about it. If forced to fight as a matter of survival, that's a different issue entirely, and you just get "fired up", feel no pain, and GO FOR IT...I've just never had to.

Fighting is about being STUPID 99.99% of the time despite you machoism. It's not a fear of being hurt...I've been hurt lots of times when I couldn't help it (much worse than the results of some punches), but I try not to be stupid...it's worked well for me.

Tobra 06-29-2008 07:32 PM

Sniper, you truly are an enigma, you show flashes of intelligence, then go back to sounding like an 11 year old.

I wish I did not have any responsibilities and could act as childishly as you suggest; no, on considering it for an instant, I would rather be a grown up.

+1. Going out looking for trouble is just stupid...but when arseholes are can crap on others who are just minding their own business...because they know that the other guy will always just walk away....the arseholes will have won...and things will just get worse and worse. Sometimes you just have to be a man.

Jeff Higgins 06-29-2008 07:50 PM

What a bunch of pussies.

KFC911 06-29-2008 07:51 PM

Can't say I've ever just walked away either fint, but I don't sweat the small stuff...if I run accross a fire, I'll try to put it out with water before resorting to gasoline however. The attitude you guys project is more likely to get you dead eventually based upon my experiences imo. Won't necessarily be a fair fight, but life isn't fair...I'd rather be smart.

Tobra 06-29-2008 07:59 PM

Fair Fight, what is this Fair Fight you speak of?
